Artist Statement

The purpose of my life is to make every story that spits out of my head, and to help anyone I can make their own stories, until a car inevitably hits me at the ripe age of 32 and does me in.

That might be a silly way to put it. Even silier is the fact that my greatest success would be for every story I make to have a Wikipedia page and a tag on Archive of our Own. But both statements are dead serious in their intent.

Writing and inventing stories is my true purpose, and that has been a fact since I was 14 and in a dark place, to put it lightly. In a time when I felt like there was nothing left, I found a niche in making up tales with themes of humanity, recovery, queer escapism, and choosing to love living even when it was easy to hate life. I wrote a future where I was better, and that dream was one of the few footholds that helped me recover and live years longer than I ever thought possible. I fundamentally consider storymaking to be the thing that saved my life, and I will return the enthusiasm for as long as I possibly can.

Truly, the day that I no longer have stories to tell will be the day I can die peacefully. But if I accomplish nothing else, what I want more than anything is to inspire, console, and support the ones who lived a life similar to mine, and to teach and entertain the ones who didn't. I want to write stories that fans will excitedly write awful stories about, brutalizing and warping my characters to stick their own into the mix. I want to write stories that get viewers upset enough to try to make it themselves, to make it better. I want to write a story that is a foothold in another hurting 14-year-old's life. I don't mind being forgotten, but I want to write stories that will last, and that will make a difference. Even if it's just one life that is changed.
